Interested citizens of Auburn are invited to a public hearing sponsored by the  City of  Auburn. This meeting will start at 5 P.M. on October 9, 2017 at the Auburn City Hall for the purpose of providing general information to the public regarding the proposed Wastewater Treatment Plant and System upgrades and expansion. The public is invited to attend and comment on the draft plan and its contents  as well as project issues such as economic and environmental impacts, service area, alternatives to the project, or any other pertinent issues. Verbal and written comments will be accepted at the public hearing. Written comments concerning the plan will also be accepted via mail between September 8, 2017, and October 9, 2017. Written comments should be addressed to City of Auburn, Mayor Mike Hughes, 103 E. Main Street, PO Box 465, Auburn, KY 42206. The City of Auburn has completed a Wastewater Treatment Plant Facility Plan. This Facility Plan details the Recommended Plan for wastewater management within the Auburn planning area. The planning area comprises all of Auburn and the US 68 corridor from Warren County and Russellville’s service area. The recommended plan represents the alternative with the lowest present worth cost, a minimal environmental impact, and the highest capability for implementation. The recommended plan calls for constructing a new Wastewater Treatment Plant to increase the capacity of wastewater that can be treated. Additionally, the plan includes sewer system improvements within Auburn’s sewer collection system. The draft plan will be available for review at City Hall (103 E. Main Street) during normal business hours September 8, 2017, to October 9, 2017.
